M. Cristina Bastias, M.D.,HCLD (ABB), ELD (ABB)
Director, Andrology and Embryology Laboratories
Dr. Bastias has been certified by the American Board of Bioanalysts as High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director and Embryology Laboratory Director. She graduated from Córdoba National University School of Medicine in Argentina, and completed her Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Laboratory training at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where she served for eight years as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and as director of the Vanderbilt In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory.
Prior to joining the Louisville Reproductive Center, she served as Andrology and ART Laboratory Director at the Center for Reproductive Health in Nashville, TN, for five years, and subsequently was appointed Director of Reproductive Endocrinology Laboratories at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY, for three years.
Her clinical experience and research in the field of Andrology and ART has lead to substantial advancements in the evaluation and treatment of male factor patients, improvement of in vitro culture conditions for human gametes and embryos, and enhancement of embryo cryopreservation techniques, thus helping hundreds of patients to conceive.
Cindy Lee, RN
Cindy joined our team in August, 2008 and serves as our IVF Nurse Coordinator and Anonymous Oocyte Donor Coordinator. She graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1975 and has spent most of her career working in surgery at several hospitals in the Louisville and Lexington area. Cindy provides instruction and support to our patients, guiding them smoothly through the treatment process.
