“No one can ever be prepared for the emotional and physical toll of infertility. When my husband and I learned that IVF was our only chance for a biological child, we researched clinics and decided to undergo IVF at Fertility and Endocrine Associates because we felt the small staff and individualized attention would be the best fit for us. We didn’t realize at the outset how important that decision would be in our journey through infertility. I was not one of the lucky patients who got pregnant on her first or even her second IVF. Yet, through the many emotional ups and downs, the consistently compassionate care we received at Fertility and Endocrine Associates proved to be an anchor for us. Treatment for infertility is a highly personal journey and dealing with professionals who know and care about you and are committed to your individualized medical care makes a tremendous difference. We got pregnant on our third IVF, but my words about the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff would be the same even if the result had been different. We continue to be profoundly touched and grateful for the care we received through this difficult journey.”

Anyone who has tried to have children and encountered difficulty knows the heartache you carry with you as each month and each year goes by. After a few years of trying (with assistance from another fertility practice) we had all but given up. Then, a friend referred us to Dr. Robert Homm and Mrs. Kit Devine. What a gift.
They got “right down to business.” We finally felt like someone was taking our concerns seriously and acting accordingly. On our third attempt, we conceived our twins. A long awaited miracle in our book.
One of the things that impressed us most about Dr. Homm and Mrs. Devine’s practice was their responsible use of fertility medications. We all hear stories about families who have high order multiples and know those children are at risk of pre-term birth and all the complications that arise from such a rough start. Not to mention the stress a family encounters when suddenly presented with 4, 5, 6 or more children at once.
Fertility and Endocrine Associates was very careful to monitor our progress at each step along the way to guard against this. They were very clear that if it became evident that we had “overshot the mark” and were in danger of conceiving multiples, we would not move forward. Very responsible and very impressive.
It goes without saying that the staff at Fertility and Endocrine Associates is caring, warm and supportive. How nice to call a doctor’s office and have the person answering the phone actually know who you are. The personal, caring, and responsible approach that Dr. Homm and Mrs. Devine take with their patients would lead us to recommend them whole-heartedly to anyone who needs assistance in completing their family. How lucky and grateful we feel to have found them.

After years of unsuccessful pregnancies, we decided to seek the help of Dr Homm & his staff. After my 1st initial call, I felt an instant sense of compassion and understanding on the other line. We knew we had found the place that would help us understand our challenges and what our options were. After all the tests and discussions, it was determined that our best course of action was IVF. We opted for IVF and became pregnant after our 1st attempt. Nine weeks later our high hopes ended in yet another miscarriage. We felt defeated and decided to take a break. After several months, we still weren’t sure if we wanted to try IVF again. However, after many tears, late night talks and faith, we chose to try it once more. We had 2 frozen eggs implanted and went home and waited. After 2 weeks, I returned to find out I was pregnant, but started bleeding and cramping the exact same day. I knew what was happening and all my hopes were diminished. Ms Devine called the next day and said my levels were high and explained there was still a possibility the other egg implanted. I must admit, we had little to no hope and started to look into other options such as adoption. We returned 2 weeks later where Ms Devine performed an ultrasound and determined I had an empty sac with no fetal development. She continued the ultrasound to find another sac, with not one, but 2 beating hearts. We were over the moon & could not believe we had been blessed with identical twins. Every few weeks we returned for routine ultrasounds. I must admit, I was always in fear for the worst, but the staff and my husband kept me thinking positive thoughts. After 12 weeks, it was time to move on to our regular OBGYN. Needless to say, it was a bitter sweet day for us. On one hand, you know you have to leave the practice to advance, but on the other hand it is hard to say goodbye to your support system. The staff at Fertility and Endocrine was always professional, understanding and above all else, compassionate. They will forever be in our thoughts and near and dear to our hearts.
